Swiss farm

Switzerland, with its beautiful mountains, frozen glaciers, Alpine lakes, great cities, and friendly people, is my favorite destination in Europe.

I was only lucky enough to visit Switzerland once, but if things work out, I hope to return for a much longer visit.

We spent only three days and two nights here, but it was worth every minute. The first day, we drove down from Germany, crossed the border at Basel, and drove about 90km to Zürich, where we stopped for the night. Here we had dinner and wandered around town before going to bed early.

The next morning, we got up early and drove west just admiring the scenery. We stopped at Vaduz, Liechtenstein -- a little over 100km from Zürich -- where we had lunch and did a little sightseeing. Then we were off, heading back east, on a 200km journey from Vaduz to Interlaken. We drove through some beautiful mountains and glaciers before arriving at Interlaken a little after dark. We were pretty exhausted after driving for much all day, so we grabbed a quick dinner then went to bed.

The last day in Switzerland, we got up early and made the short 60km drive to Bern. We spent a few hours sightseeing in the horseshoe-shape old town, and then we had lunch at a street side cafe. We quickly got back on the road and left Switzerland through Basel (100km north of Bern), the same place we had entered.
