| | Paris is a brilliant city of fine architecture, glorious history, top culture, and great food. Some of its nicknames, "The City of Bridges", "The City of Lights", and "The City of Love" hint at the magic this unique city has to offer for both residents and visitors.
I made two trips to Paris in 2000 when I lived in Germany. The first trip was in April when my family visited Germany. We rented a car and drove the four hours to Paris (at 160km/hour!), spent two nights at a hotel near Gare de Lyon, then drove back to Germany. |

| | In September 2000, I made my second trip to Paris. We spent several days in Normandy visiting the World War II battlefields. On the way back to Germany, we stopped in Versailles for a night and took the RER train into the city of Paris.
Because my trips were so short, I stuck with the popular "Must-See" activities such as the Notre Dame, Eiffel Tower, and Champs Elysees. However little time you spend here, you are sure to sit at a cafe, walk along the Seine, and sit in a lovely city park listening to the sweet French language rolling off the tongues of the locals. These are the true charms of Paris; the things you will remember and talk about long after you depart. |

Nancy : ) | Nemorino Sun Aug 19, 2007 22:29 UTC Looks like you made very good use of your two brief visits to Paris. You'll be happy to learn that some of toilets in Paris are free now, just one of the many improvements made by the current mayor since his election six years ago. | gilabrand Thu Feb 15, 2007 09:18 UTC A mad dash across 10 lanes of traffic, huh? Talk of suicidal... | Henrik_rrb Tue Sep 14, 2004 02:20 UTC Hi Joe! Great job on your Paris-page, I really enjoyed reading! Unfortunately I missed the boat-trip when I was there, but I guess that's a reason to go back...? /Henrik |
