I stayed at the Horng Gong Hotel on Chang Chun Road. It had a nice large room and was in a good location, close The Zone and many of the major tourist sites such as the Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall. I paid about US$60 per night. It was also a relatively easy walk to the subway and the airport bus pickup and drop off location.
I booked the hotel room at the airport information desk after landing.
