"Wedding in Loire" Chenonceau by thomasabardin

Chenonceau Travel Guide: 150 reviews and 429 photos

Amboise, for living

For our wedding, we had Amboise as our base for the wedding. This meant that most guest stayed here. As many French tourist destinations, there are a lot of local tourists, raising the quality and making it feeling a normal place. With 2 castles and the river Loire, it is one good base for the area.

Chisseaux, for ceremony

We got married in the small church of Chisseaux, built in the 11-th century. With more than 90 guests, we took almost every seat in the church. It was a strong feeling, and musicians, vocalist, priest and readers all contributed for a special feeling.

Vins d'honneur and dinner at Chateau Chenonceau

After the ceremnoy in the church, we went for a boat trip on the river Cher, by La Belandre. Between the boat trip and the reception, guests could walk in the castle and garden of the Chenonceau castle. Than, reception, vins d'honneur with appertizer, 6 course dinner and cake at the Orangeri at the castle. Music was excellently performed by the orchestre of Philippe Lebel.
