Spring Break 2011 Kiawah

Our trip to Kiawah South Carolina back in March was trip number eight. We have been making annual family trips to the Charleston area eight out of the last ten years. What makes Kiawah and Seabrook Islands so special? First of all, it is the peaceful serenity and beautify of the green lush subtropical landscaping (and golf courses!) combined with the miles of prestine beach that never seem to get crowded. Add in a dip in the warm Atlantic and some great bike trails and the vacation is complete. My children get excited for a trip to this "lowcountry" Charleston area as they would for a trip to see Mickey Mouse at Walt Disney World. The spring weather in Kiawah can be hit or miss as we have experienced cooler temperatures the past two years (averaging in low sixties). March can be touch and go with no consistency in weather trends for the past ten years. Some years, we have been lucky and had temps hover in mid to upper seventies. Best bet for Kiawah travel is to hold off until April/May or go in the fall months when the humidity and hot temps drop.
