A wonderful masterpiece of Architecture. You can sit there for hours. It also ha s a secret story, but I'll be greedy and will keep it for myself. There's also a tradition to throw a coin trough your shoulder-head to the water, it supposed to mean that you'll come back to Rome one day. As far as I know, money from there are gathered and devoted for mantainance of the fountain, so, you won't do any harm if you throw a coin or two :)

So, you find yourself in Via Fuori imperiali, on one side of the street you find Fori Imperiali - Go inside them! I didn't go during my first visit - that was my mistake that I corrected on the second one! the entrance is from the side of Colosseo. wander, enjoy, look, admire!

On the other side of Via Fori Imperiali you'll see another complex with Markets of Trajan, Bathes and etc. wonderful complex, my favourite actually. the entrance to them is from another street (that is high and up). Gracias (it. Grazie) Jorge for this picture! :)

A must. If you know the history and even if you don't know it, visit the inside- it will impress you. esp. when you see and imagine how it was, animal places down, all the fights, all the shows, the places for the guests, etc. I have never though that it's so interesting inside! notice: people love standing lines these days, there're two lines at the entrance, somewhat people love to go to the longest, rather then going to the front and checking that 'oh there're two windows where they are selling tickets, just one is without any line, you just buy and go... nahh... not interesting' :) moral - don't stand the longest line, check the front, there might be no line at all!

Piazza Navona (Navona Square) or Campo dei fiori - you'll find here not only gorgeous fountain (actually, THREE -* GL, adesso sei contento? :P * of them) and a church, but also street life - artists, painters, musicans. A lively and nice place.

One of the most famous sight-seeing places in Rome. Spanish steps. Very cute fountain downstairs, nice stairs with flowers with many tourists and students on them. Design of the steps finished by Francesco de Sanctis after generations of controversy. The church at the top of the Steps is the Trinita dei Monti, founded by the French in 1495. There's a great bar near with ottimo cafe' :) Also I liked one original adverstisment, that is house with windows with models (not real ones, sure) in it. If I'm not mistaken it was by United Colors of Benneton, or maybe not. Anyway, the place is quite cute for hanging out. >this photo is not taken by me. I wish it was. <

The same Spanish steps and the fountain that is down there, in the shape of the boat. By the way, differently than in other big cities of the world, Rome is unique because of its' water quality. There are many springs under Rome, so you CAN drink water straightly from the fountains.

Pantheon is another place to see. With the hole up , it's said that it never rains there inside, but actually if the rain is really strong it does come and inside :) It was built as a Roman temple and later consecrated as a Catholic Church. Inside there's a grave of Raffaello (the one with two small pigeons kissing) and of Italian Kings. It's in the Rotonda square. there's also a fountain in it.

There are 13 obeliscs in Rome (did I mention Romans loved steeling? :))) . As i'm interested in Egyptian civilization it was great to see at least half of them in all those squares. The one I loved in particular was very original, not so tall but with a lovely detail - Elephant under it :)
