Manchester is my home town and the place where i was born. Manchester has changed a lot over the years especially in the City centre. The City centre was re constructed several years ago following an explosion which tore down much of the city. Considered the capital of the north Manchester is a thriving city with a fantastic nightlife and plenty to see.
There are many football clubs in Manchester, The most famous being Manchester United and my favourites Manchester City. The two clubs are big rivals and Manchester derby's bring much excitement and if you are in Manchester when a derby match is coming up you will hear people talking about it everywhere.
Manchester has produced some of the most well known bands in England, the most famous are Oasis, The Smiths, The Stone Roses, The Happy Mondays and New Order. The BeeGee's spent some of their childhood in Manchester and some of british boy band Take That were also born and raised in the area.
Award winning British Soap "Coronation Street" is set in Weatherfield which a fictional area of Manchester/Salford.
Manchester Arndale is the UK's largest city centre shopping mall
Over 20 Nobel Prize winners have come from Manchester
Manchester is the most visited UK city after London
The first modern computer was built in Manchester
Birthplace of the world famous Rolls Royce company.

Manchester is one of my fave cities...I was lucky that many of my visits to the city the sun always shone for me lol. Still it's amazing city whether it rains or shines:D
