"A beautiful jewel of Eastern Europe" Prague by Laura_Mexico

I had been hearing for years what a lovely city Prague was, but I was just too afraid to go there on my own because I don't speak Czech, or German or Russian....... and some years ago people there were not as used to tourism as they are now and it was hard to find people who spoke English. Or so I was told.

Therefore, on my last trip to Europe 5 years ago I discarded the idea of going there, but I'm glad that I didn't do the same in 2007. I was geographically close, spending some days in Krakow and needing to spend 2 days somewhere else before moving on to my next destination, and it just came to me: WHAT THE HECK, I'M GOING TO PRAGUE...... and I'm so glad I did!!!!

This is a beautiful city and it obviously has been refurbished ever since the communist days. Lovely streets, buildings, squares, parks. Food is still reasonably priced in many places, lodging too...... so I think it's a really nice place to visit if you get the chance. I really enjoyed my short stay here and will share what I got to know of this great place hoping it's helpful for you!!!

• Pros:Awesome architecture, most interesting places easily reachable by foot, nice public transportation system
• Cons:Souvenirs and tours are getting too expensive, big crowds everywhere
