When I first was invited here by a friend of mine I wasn't really attracted to Barcelona. I thought there were nicer places to visit, because I had been there 14 years before and I didn't have a clear memory of it, but my mind kept an image of Spain being one of the less nice countries in Europe. How wrong I was! They have really improved the aspect of the city - most probably as a consequence of the Olympic games that took place here in 1992 -, everything is clean and well maintained, and the services offered to the tourists work efficiently.
This city is famous for being a place to party (and being on the warm coast of Europe helps in reinforcing that image of it), but I really found it to be an interesting town with lovely buildings and good places to visit. So I highly recommend it if you're planning to visit Spain, I'm sure you'll like it.
