"Thirsk - All creatures great and small" Thirsk by Korin79380083

Thirsk - rural village - small and quiet. The BBC series 'All creatures great and small' was partly filmed here. The vet James Herriot, about whom the series is about, lived here in Thirsk and so a visit to his house was obligatory - seeing that we had religiously followed all the series.

The Darrowby Inn

We also visited the Darrowby (ficticious name) Inn where the vet and his friends used to go for a pint. Thirsk is a small quaint village where a farmer's market is held in the square every Saturday. It is a peaceful and relaxing place to visit.

The Golden Fleece

The Golden Fleece Hotel and the square in front of it where the farmers' market is held on Saturdays.
