Getting TO/AROUND: One of my favourite train stations and most visited by the way ..its the gate to the main train departures and arrivals. Its quite nice and no i didnt find any trouble there..
Besides is really easy to locate yourself from outside , the big boulevard in front of it is Rakosczi that runs to the river through Astoria and cross the city from norteast to southwest.
Besides keleti is a red stop subway line ..you have to cross an underground square and look for it if u are coming from the railway station

Getting TO/AROUND: Trains for the Great Plain and the Danube Bend arrive and depart from Nyugati train station (metro: Nyugati pályaudvar). Actually i get a train to cross Hungary and get Romania .. it was a night train that left Budapest at 19h and run to Bucharest .. i get off in cluj Napoca at 2 or 3 am after passed the border and Oradea
the train station is a poorer than not Keleti but it is almost in the city center and nearby to the river... there is a blue subway station just crossing the street and downstairs

Getting TO/AROUND: For trains bound for Transdanubia and Lake Balaton, go to D?li train station (metro: D?li) on the red line and is the last stop... i took my trian there to Balatoalmadi and runs to other villages closer to the lake.. Also there is trains to Veszprem and that southwest region
This station is quite small located at westren of buda hill but you can enjoy this sight.besides there is some stall with pizza, schawarma and other meals waiting for rhe train... The fee for Balatonalmadi is 1214 HUF and depends the train you take it use 1.5 or 2 hours being there
But the sights are wonderful .. i run in the evening and i can assure that the pics on the lake are amazing!! you can see it on my balatonalamdi page

Getting TO/AROUND: How to get the airport...the point is wherever you being in Budapest look for the blue line direction Kobánya-Kispest...get off in this station and follow wak in the same wagon direction ..then go up some stairs and turn right..walk straight for that corridor till the end and finally outside turn right and look ahead..there will be so much people with backpacks and cases waiting for the bus..the fee is 200 HUFand runs to Ferigehy 1-2...you can see the stops in a display screen so its easy for the tourist

Here some maps of the Budpest subway network

it was a pittyfull day..was my last there after excellent experiences around the eastern nice people i met ..with some of them i keep on touch thats great! ..

Getting TO/AROUND: The eldest metro network in Europe...some lanes are really cosy and its easy to move around one time inside..the most beautiful is the yellow one ..all the decoration around the several stops remind me elder days with a high-style ambient and wooden wagons..really nice
In the map you can see indeed the last station (m3) where you have to take the bus to the airport..southeastwards from the downtown
also the beautiful yellow lane running along Andrassy Boulevard or the main stations as Kelety nyugati or Deli at the west end of red lane crossing the Danube

if you cant see it well try to open it with photoshop or run to this link

Getting TO/AROUND: Take care once into the halls or corridors...controllers are everywhere, indeed they ask for your ticjet more than one time in less than a minute !! lol
So its better to buy it beforehand enter.. its quite cheap and you have to know that if you are going to switch lanes you have to buy two single tickets and punch it before enter to the second line..ir purchase a transfer ticket in the machine avalaible in english as well

David, thanks for the excellent info on about everything to be seen in Budapest. I also enjoyed a visit, amazing how 2 people see a city differently. Maybe a youth view point as against an "old "person's interest.haha. Great to meet the locals.
