Favorite Thing: I visit it on my second stage in BUDAPEST. It was a pouring day. the rain wasnt so hard to disturb my visit...The former kings and important tribal leaders of Hungary are over a huge and long pedestal in hardened beahviour..equestrian statues are the most beautiful and impressive. The monument was constructed to honour the millennial aniversary (1896)of the Magyar conquest of the Carpathian basin One of the most beautiful points is that the long Avenue that runs to the square (Andrassy Utza) ..its for me the most beautiful street in the city plenty of great buildings, theatres, museums , its quite alike to Passeig de Gracia avenue in Barcelona..really nice

Favorite Thing: This city is fill by Danibe river that splits the city in two, but joining it at the same time. Danube as sea in some other cities gives an other dimension and become a more beautiful city and a breath in the middle of huge streets and squares.. About 6 bridges cross the Danube the most famous it is (on this pic), but there are 2 more southern that deserve the visit, Erzs?bet and Szabads?g Hid (or bridge)

Favorite Thing: Southwards from the most famous brige (Szechenyi) there is this dark green one who runs from Gellert area in Buda to central streets in Pest and further away to Rakozci and Keleti It was my fault i didnt see Gellert but i walk at night from Deli station to this bridge, where by the way if you need to take the bus is just after crossing to Pest almost under the bridge, so i saw some former buildings beneath wester side buda castle , a different point of usual view ..always from the river and Pest side!

I also enjoyed a visit, amazing how 2 people see a city differently. Maybe a youth view point as against an "old "person's interest.haha. Great to meet the locals. | blint Fri Apr 4, 2008 01:54 UTC Great page. One of the best I have seen on Budapest as it shows not just the main monuments :) Grrracias |
