I daresay that i know this quarter very well cause I lived here almost 22 years!!!! Sants Station is the main attraction... cause its a Airport arrival station, metro hub with two lines and surroundings net trains. Quarter Festivities celebrated from 20th to 27th of August in closer sreets to Sants Station as Vallespir, Galileu, Valladolid and other beside it. i suggest it to take a look some night if you are here España Industrial a 'NY central park' but smaller .. but its good to relax and its besides Sants-station too Montjuic Hill where you can see Sant Jordi Arena built in 1992 for olympic games, the Olympic Stadium on the top for the same reason and now playing RCD Español (spanish soccer) Miro's foundation center (art center) Gorgeous gardens side by side to the funicular that flights to the Montjuic castle Picornell swimming Pool Archeological museum National Palace Museum in front of the Venician twin towers Carretera de Sants (Avenue), the largest comercial street in Europe.. begins at Spain square and end further away of Sants Square. There are all kind of shops, also a huge library (Abacus) the Hostafrancs place market, dinner's, shoes stalls , and clothes shop of course!!

Poblenou quarter Highlights The beaches quarter in Barcelona.. since 1992 has become in the most popular area above all in Summer. Here Barcelona recovered their beaches where there are industries for a long time ago.We have 4, but i suggest 2 beaches .. Bogatell and Nova Icaria. La Rambla de Poblenou arriving by yellow metro line in Poblenou station or Llacuna you can find a charm avenue with a lot of shops, that arrives from Diagonal Avenue to the beaches Diagonal Center a new comercial area at the end of diagonal besides the sea ..shops shops and more shops!! Glories Centre Comercial other comercial area in glories square (subway line 1 glories).. too much people above all on weekend. be careful !! lol

Stroll around... its so funny and at the same you can discover hidden places and non-tourist streets, typical local tea houses or moroccan coffee shops... Gotic preserves the former Barcelona alley streets and the culture is a melting pot actually .. morrocian, locals, chinese, pakistanese and other cultures live together there.. above all in Raval subquarter .. one of the most trendy places nowadays!

One of my favourite streets in BCN...it worth while to take a look ....begins in the corner with Ferran st and end in Ample st closer to the harbour....parallel to the rambla offers such attractions as many great shops ..great restaurants ..my friend's bar BAR AVINYO just in one corner at the left side going down... ( so easy to see) take a look inside of this small and typical catalan bar ask for PACO..here is the manager and tell him that you are coming on behalf of me !! Also there are this building that you can see in this pic. Its the Arts and occupations school.

This square is located in upper gracia quarter not far away from Verdi street one of the most populars in the area. Its a quiet square in winter but so frequented in spring, summer and fall due to the excellent location and piles of terraces to drink under umbrellas..

Bravo! awesome pictures. And I wish even more to go to Barcelona...btw, have seen our commun friend on one of the pictures - Mark. | nomorewars Tue Mar 25, 2008 19:11 UTC The Barcelona neighborhood markets were one of my favorite stops the last time I visited the city in 1998. I did the vast majority of my shopping in these areas. Although I didn't shop much, I loaded up on apples, oranges (expensive), & carrots. | mvtouring Thu Mar 13, 2008 11:44 UTC Love your pages and they way you say it as it is. ;-) |
