The national lager after the mate as a national drink !! Better here than wherever ...Quilmes Cristal is so much better than the quilmes that i could drink in spain ..i dont know why ..but its a light lager so good for everything cos its not strong They used to call as "porron" for a 35cl bottle

So delicous stuff to eat !!!!! my God ....my sin there... i was in love with empanadas...i could eat it at any time ...its made with a pastry made in oven and inside they add cheese...ham ... vegetables..meat...whatever....i ts such a delicous snack that people eat it at any time...and most of them pick it up in the stall and take away or ask from home just like a pizza !!!!

30 years ago was the "coup d'etat" agains the democratic argentinian government....i was so lucky to see and behold the peacefull demonstration around the capital avenues... it was a great event ...Buenos aires inhabitants get out to the streets to shout peace and freedom as they ever did before

Local drink by excellence is mater....argentinians, uruguayan and other use to drink it by its stimulants effects... thrice cafeine than not a simple coffee !! you will need a cup (called mate) a "straw" (called "bombixa") and the mate weed that is harvest in regions like corrientes or misiones ....then pour some water into the cup (not boiling water !! ) and you get it...the best advice is try to make local friends and they show u the way.. besides its a friendship drink....people gather together with this excuse ...take mate and talk back and forth !!

One of the most interesting things to pay attention in Buenos Aires if you can understand spanish is trying to listen to people on the streets...specially men talking to women and mainly flattering them (her) ..its really funny because its not rude or unpolite.. absolutelly not...they are so originals telling funny but at the same nice words to them !! People use to talk with words like "NEGRO" to call someone on the street that means "BLACK or FLACO ..on the same refering .. that means "THIN" or GORDO that means FAT All this word are so common and noone could take offence by that ...its so popular and funny the words on the pic mean this "hey FATTY you are the love of my life, your FATTY girl,Anita...." and then just in the middle forever !

Yeah its at all common in other places in this bloody world..but argentinians use to kiss themselves among guys ..doesnt mind how old they are ....and just a curiosity....i didnt see before two cops kissing in the street as i saw several times in Buenos Aires jaajajaj

Traditional argentinian dance style... you can see couple dancing everywhere for tourist and above all in La Boca where there is a small museum about Tango ...closer to caminito and easy to reach it In Plaza Francia or Dorrego square every afternoon there are some couples dancing for tourist .

re, Perla, what I always do in my travels: Get a non-English menu off a table from the back of the restaurant. Now the prices are REAL! Keep the menu until you get the bill if you want to compare. And if you are good at it, the menu becomes a souvenir. | BillNJ Thu Jan 15, 2009 00:32 UTC

for the ppl seeing this page I´d like to disagree on that BS AS is dangerous or polluted. compared to big european cities like madrid or paris it is very calm and clean. and it is not good for just a few days cause it´s too big and interesting. . |
