Off The Beaten Path: La boca from a viaduct
  • Tip Rating:
  • This is the viaduct coming from Quilmes city and passing over the Riachuelo you get Buenos Aires Capital and la Boca as its first neighbourhood

Off The Beaten Path: Cerveceria Quilmes
  • Tip Rating:
  • Located in Quilmes municipality ..southwards from the capital.... i dont know if theres much to see but i went to the gorgeous and huge "cerveceria" just amidst a fabolous resort well kept ....where i ate and drink a lot ..all was really cheap and theres a souvenirs shop
If you are interested the best way to get there is take a cab from capital or any remis from quilmes quarter

Off The Beaten Path: Plaza Almagro
  • Tip Rating:
  • Its an absolutely off beaten path tip !!! ..located in at all touristic place i could enjoy just sitting meanwhile those elder men were playing chess...and some homeless trying to find something more fun that arrange all its stuff !

Located upwards from Miserere square in a worker's quarter amidst Corrientes and Rivadabia boulevard doesnt have any special to see if you are looking for highlights ... but such things dont impress me so much...i rather to walk alone quietly just looking at hidden or normal things as people lifes !!
that was a good place to enjoy like i fancy much !!

Off The Beaten Path: Miserere square
  • Tip Rating:
  • Unfortunatelly this square and surrounding became famous dued to the fire into a disco Xmas 05' when almost 200 young people died inside...it was a Callejeros performance and sth was wrong and a fire involved people inside and couldnt go out because the fire extinguisher or the emergency exits doesnt work !!!
Now there is a memorial in Miserere square corner where there are a lot of placards and personal stuff of them ..

Miserere square is a bus hub full of people waiting for this bus and a central square at all touristic but quite safe for my eyes

Off The Beaten Path: Vicente Lopez Square
  • Tip Rating:
  • Located in the chic area just a few blocks of Santa Fe avenue....full of trendy shops and far away from the Bs Aires poverty...its so different ..its so relaxing and you can walk easily in wide sidewalks dont be harm or alarmed by nothing
Vicente lopez sq is amidst recoleta graveyard and its village and Santa Fe av...on the way to Recoleta pubs and plaza Francia ... nice to see but at the same time nothing special to see... just a contrast among the rich and poor Bs Aires

Off The Beaten Path: Boca kids
  • Tip Rating:
  • i had a good experience with these kids ...they were "playing" and kicking themselves as way to have fun... they also had some a pencil and some sheets to draw caricatures from people who accept the deal !! its better this than try to rob on the streets i guess... i accepted and i keep it with me at home....the most exciting moment was when they are waiting for the money and i gave them 10 pesos ! you had to see their faces...they coudnt believe that..because its so much money for them just 3 euros for me and i guessed it worth while for the reason i explained before ..they were so kind really kind

    Off The Beaten Path: Cromagnon
  • Tip Rating:
  • This is the disco burned some time ago where i said in other tip that died around 200 young people in a New year's eve !! such a pitty !!
in the other pic you can see the memorial with pics from evertone and some dedication notes from friends, family...
You can find this place in Miserere Square going up by Rivadabia and some blocks passing Congreso building

Off The Beaten Path: Florencio Varela municipality
  • Tip Rating:
  • Buenos Aires - Local bus stop to Capital and other points
  • Local bus stop to Capital and other
  • points
  • by DPando
  • Send Photo to a Friend
  • This municipality is one more of the crowded Buenos Aires outskirts that join the actual Capital...Florencio is more or less 25 km southward from Microcentro passing by la Boca as the last Bs As quarter, Quilmes and Avellaneda, finally we get this municipality with its own mayor and local laws...
Actually there isnt a spam without buildings among Buenos Aires and Florencio Varela with any casual exeption but wherever you see there are buildings ..sometimes just shanty towns (like Villas) other very populated areas ...
Varela as locals know it has its local city hall and mayor besides its local laws ...its not a touristic place..at all....but you can see other kind of people and other ways to do to Capital....it is a dangerous place after dusk! and its absolutelly true

re, Perla, what I always do in my travels: Get a non-English menu off a table from the back of the restaurant. Now the prices are REAL! Keep the menu until you get the bill if you want to compare. And if you are good at it, the menu becomes a souvenir.

     Interesting page.

Yes, they loose their lives because of the stupid politicians and the stupid Americans that help England when they where loosin the war.

for the ppl seeing this page I´d like to disagree on that BS AS is dangerous or polluted. compared to big european cities like madrid or paris it is very calm and clean. and it is not good for just a few days cause it´s too big and interesting. .
