Plaza de Mayo: Plaza de Mayo
  • Tip Rating:
  • Nice square above all !! Plaza de Mayo is a really famous place ... i visited for 3 or 4 times because its a link in the city ... i hop off the bus in Colon Square behind it and crossed the sqaure to go to the "subte" or to see Obelisco or Corrientes, Florida street or the City...it gets the Casa rosada surrouned by official buildings and gardens where people take seat or buy sth in typical souvenir improvised stalls ... on the opposite side of Casa Rosada there is a street fork ..to the right you take Roque Pena street that runs to Republica Sq. where there is the famous Obelisco and before it the "subte stop" and turning to right narrow but important city streets crowded of people and bustling and polluted buses running ...streets like Piedras Tacuari.....
To the left the sights are not so good like others ...you can turn to indepencia on the was to San Telmo neighbourhood....my favourite

La Boca: Wlaking through LA Boca
  • Tip Rating:
  • La Boca Quarter in the southern Buenos A. coastline has a bad reputation but i didnt feel scared there.. i was there twice and i could say that all was fine..there were several cops over there, and so lively place full of tourist (bad point) and several souvenir shops and a beautifull tango museum

La Boca: Caminito a la Boca
  • Tip Rating:
  • The most famous street in la Boca, a pedestrian short street crowded by collourfull houses and nice local sculpures....full of tourist and cops as well lol !
Nice to sit in a bench for a while and behold such amazing place
Its so easy to find ...i walked twice from La Bombonera.... from the main door where there is the souvenir shop turn left and the second to the right and straight ahead..you will be able to see the first colours painted on the houses !! you will be there!!!

    Helpful hints: Avoid La Boca
  • Tip Rating:
  • Avoid la Boca at any times !! siesta time and twilight are the worst moments to warren around la Boca ... despite the cops that move by the quarter... locals told me that i shoud try to avoid to go there because is easier to get robbed

You can see more pics about hidden nooks in La Boca on the next pics !

    Corrientes avenue: Corrientes Avenue
  • Tip Rating:
  • This avenue is one of the most crowded and traffic jams at rush and not hours!! full of shops and theatres you can find everything u need..... i suggest a wine shop just in the corner with Reconquista....on the bottom of this Avenue ... ..its a great place to buy Mendoza wine if you are not going to Cuyo Provinces ...Also sports shops and beautifull sights from the Obelisc... passing 9 de Julio boulevard yuo will find some theatres and libraries and music and electronic shops as well jewlleries
Going up all is more cahotic the pavement rules over the kerb and its quite difficult to walk easily but nice to behold the contrast of different neighbourhoods place on the same large boulevard

    Football: Monumental
  • Tip Rating:
  • The huge Monumental Stadium is where River Plate the most famous "enemy" of Boca Juniors play its matches ... located in the opposite side of the city to La boca ..its surrounded by well positioned houses and neighbourhoods...this one is called Nuņez and walking by those streets you are noticing that it isnt unsafe or dangerous at night as southernmost Bs Aires quarters
The history is really curious ...When soccer begins Boca Juniors and River share the same neighbourhood but for any reason River left the quarter and moved northwards... as if they were scared of something ..that the main reason why Boca supporters called River fans as "gallinas" that means hens...and River called to Boca's fans ...."bosteros" ..its argentinian slang and comes from "bosta" that means ***... so bostero you could imagine what it is ....lol !!!

Puerto Madero and Catalina's: Puerto Madero
  • Tip Rating:
  • Typical sight from north to south of Puerto Madero ...one of the posh places in Buenos Aires to have a meal or drink something .... i didnt go to the southernmost area....to " Reserva costanera sur" ,..i was lazy lol... but im sure it worth a stroll there
Formerly it was just the main harbour but some years ago it became a cosy place for locals and trendy actually

    San Telmo: San Telmo street
  • Tip Rating:
  • My last evening in Bs Aires ... i wanted to enjoy one more time of San Telmo quarter and i met with a local friend there ( Abril VT member ) we drank some beers in Dorrego quarter and chilling a lot with his boyfriend and a girlfriend of her...
San telmo take refuge to the Bohemian feelings and its like a small city inside a huge one....its a shelter for those who love a quiet life into a big one and crowded city wherever
    you go !

on the second pic ...its a local map typed on the street wall representing San Telmo independent republic... with all the streets and highlights

re, Perla, what I always do in my travels: Get a non-English menu off a table from the back of the restaurant. Now the prices are REAL! Keep the menu until you get the bill if you want to compare. And if you are good at it, the menu becomes a souvenir.

Yes, they loose their lives because of the stupid politicians and the stupid Americans that help England when they where loosin the war.

for the ppl seeing this page Iīd like to disagree on that BS AS is dangerous or polluted. compared to big european cities like madrid or paris it is very calm and clean. and it is not good for just a few days cause itīs too big and interesting. .
