I have first visited Atlanta in 1996 for the summer Olympic Games. As soon as my plane arrived at the airport, I had this odd feeling that I wouldn't want to leave this city again. I was not wrong, Atlanta is until the day of today the only city in the United States of America that has truly concurred my heart. Its people which are rich in diversity are so very friendly for such a city of 4.1 million souls. Atlanta has shown how big cities can really become nice places to live and enjoy!
Atlanta is a very clean city, there is barely graffiti or vandalism on buildings or public property. Black, white and yellow people do treat each other kindly and with respect, that is one thing that is lacking in many other big cities. In addition to the social aspect there is the environment aspect, Atlanta is a city of trees and flowers, big pine trees are to be found everywhere while flowers decorte much of the residential and commercial area of Metro Atlanta.
Atlanta is a city rich in history, a city of trees, diverse ethnicity, southern hospitality, arts, multi billionaire corporates, high tech industries and beautiful building architecture. I guess we have all heard about Atlanta in our lifetime. Atlanta is the home of CNN Center, Coca Cola, Delta Airlines, United Parcel Service, Home Depot, just to mention a few. It is the hometown of the famous and beloved president Jimmy Carter. And the birth city of the Civil Rights Leader Martin Luther King JR.
Ever since I have visited Atlanta in 1996 I fell in love with the city and visited it back in 1997, again in March 2000, August 2000 and August 2001. Atlanta is one of the fastest growing cities in the U.S. and the shining star of the Southern U.S. of A. The citizens of Atlanta really make you feel welcome and do provide great service.
I hope you enjoy my Atlanta page in the hopes that you would make Altanta your next vacation destination.

Warm Regards,

Atlanta's skyline.

Atlanta is one of America's top 5 fastest growing cities. The metropolitan area of Atlanta has added 1.4 million people in the nineties alone. Today Atlanta is home to 4.2 million people. Many of those migrated to the city from other parts of the U.S. but also from abroad. The city of Atlanta is projected to have 5 million residents by the year 2010.
The boom in Atlanta began in the late eighties and early nineties it was sparked by Atlanta's winning bid to organize the centennial Olympic Games of 1996 and the strong recovery of the U.S. economy. The strong growth in Atlanta did not came without negative impacts. The city has major traffic stagnation during rush hour, then there is deforestation, water shortage and smog problems.

Atlanta has overcome many obstacles in the past and will also overcome the above obstacles. There are great innitiatives to revive the downtown area of the city and make it more pedestrian friendly. Lot's of luxury condo's are being constructed in downtown Atlanta. As matter of fact the downtown population of Atlanta which was on the decline for decades has shown growth for the first time in the year 2000. With the attention now focused in downtown and midtown Atlanta the city is on the path of becoming a fun and exciting place to spend a vacation.

Garden city.

You will note that Atlanta is very garden oriented. You will encounter many nice well planned gardening through out the city and the suburbs. Atlanta is clean, green and flowery.
The above picture is that of the American flag near one of Atlanta's greatest attraction, "Stone Mountain".
