"Beautiful Island of Curacao" Netherlands Antilles by unipanther08

I stopped here as a port of call on my 7-Night Southern Caribbean Cruise on the Adventure of the Seas (Royal Caribbean). It was absolutely beautiful! The buildings are painted in vibrant colors and the sidewalks and streets were very clean. The people were extremely friendly and honest. My mother wanted to buy some cheap sunglasses at one shop and the price was $6. She thought they were $10 and asked the vendor if he would take $8. He actually told her that they were only $6. I was shocked that he didn't say "Yes, I will take $8." I bet you can't find too many shops with honest owners like that! The local shopping areas were great and really inexpensive for tourist items like clothing and souvenirs. They also had some high-end shops for luxury items. Overall, it was a really unique island and I can't wait to go back!
