Brugge train station Travel by Plane Train ,Boat or Car or Bus Review

We arrived in Bruges in the morning from Brussels and the station was filled with young people arriving for school, all dressed in their various uniforms. Many were in the station’s shops, stocking up on snacks and drinks either for a non-nutritious breakfast or to pack away for later in the day. We chatted with several of them, who told us that they do this every day. Once they had their purchases, they headed out of the station and off to school.
Inside the station were several cafes and a convenient market in addition to the typical ticket counters and such. There were actually shops on both sides of the train station (we got turned around when we came back later in the day).

Taking the train in Belgium was so easy and it is much more relaxing to sit and read than to try to drive, fight traffic, figure out where to go, and find parking! Tickets can be purchased at the station and then they are checked while on the train (so hold on to your ticket!).

The train station in Bruges was not too far away from the city center and an easy walk. There are lots of bicyclists in Bruges and around the train station, but they have their own lanes in the sidewalks, so please cautious about not getting in their lane.

To find your train, look for your stop and take note of the platform number. Head up to your platform and wait for the train. Be careful to not take a seat in first class unless you have a first class ticket. And usually there are no assigned seats; simply seat where you can find a seat. Then sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride!
