Located just a few miles from the town of Lisse, the Keukenhof Gardens have been a major destination for bulb watching enthusiasts for sixty some years. The tulip gardens are at inl bloom between mid February to late April. The promotional material for the gardens claim that the flower park is the photographed site in the world and the largest bulb garden. A stunning over seven million tulips are planted by hand in the some 32 hectares that make up the park.

Brilliant Colors

The tulips at Keukenhof are absolutely stunning. Over 100 varieties and approximately 4.5 million tulips are on display in the park. Dwarf and giant tulps abound in displays that show the imagination and creativity of the Dutch folk.

The Tulips As You Approach Keukenhof

While driving by car or bus (preferred) to Keukenhof you will see field after field of tulips and other flowers being grown. Some of the views are very striking. There are even a series of canals that can be accessed by boats that can be rented for a nominal cost.

    You HAVE been here, I still haven't (shame on me!). My excuse is that there are so many tulip fields around where I live that I see plenty already in spring.
