I have recently become very interested in National Parks and being a photographer have developed a new inspiration.. So I decided to set out down the road for my first "official" visit to Wilson's Creek National Park. A Civil War Battlefield. You can take a walking tour or a driving tour. There are 8 driving tour stops which will guide you through the battle and give you some history of the lands that the park protects. It was interesting to see the canon sites of the Union and Confederate soldiers on "Bloody Hill", as well as the house that overlooks the hill and served as a hospital during the battle. The walking trail winds through the great woods and on the edge a handful of tall grass prairies provide perfect information to help imagine where the soldiers camped and fought on the august day in 1861
