"Cundys Harbor, Maine" Cundys Harbor by Bernard_Maje

Cundys Harbor Travel Guide: 1 reviews and 5 photos

Lobster Rolls. Being from Seattle, we had never heard of them until we flew to Portland Maine. Lucky for us, we stayed on a friend's private island in the middle of Cundys Harbor, about an hour north of Portland. The only industry in the harbor is lobstering and other types of fishing. The only place to eat is a fantastic outdoor eatery on the end of one of the working piers. There you will find Chef Tyler (14 years old in '99) hand weighing Lobsters that had been out of the traps for only a few hours. If you want a beer, you have to walk across the dirt parking lot to the tiny General Store. Nothing fancy, just incredible Lobster Rolls. A few piers away is a cute little shop selling maritime nick nacks (see picture below).
