I'd always dreamed of going to Italy, and the chance presented itself---so off I went! I first flew into Venice for 4 days, then the train to Verona for two days, then the train to Padua to join a Rick Steves Village Italy Tour!
Oh, what a romantic and dreamy island this is! FIrst day out with my trusty map---took one turn and promptly got lost. Tossed the map and just wandered. What a great place to get lost in---and it was such fun to ask directions in Italian and still be wandering a block later!
'Couldn't get enough photos of these lovely old buildings. Trusty sketchbook in hand, this was an artist's dream world!
- Pros:Beautiful country, kind people, laid back lifestyle!
- Cons:HOT muggy weather in July & August---and no ice cubes!
- In a nutshell:Lovely landscapes, proud people, exquisite food!
