The island of Gods and wind

A fresco from the famous Minoan palace of Knossos
The biggest and the most diverse of Greek islands. We could only visit half of it (the eastern part) during our 8 days trip, but we hope to come back soon to visit the western part too...
So many things to see, the Minoan sites, beautiful sea and mountains, the nice villages of the interior, the old monasteries, the white churches, the impressive gorges, the great people and traditions.

We definitely preferred the southern coast because much less developed and touristic.
One of the thousand white churches on the island
The Gulf of Mirabello, North-eastern coast, Crete
