Wait, Whose Travelogue?

Recorded here are the wanderings of two Kentuckians dropped into Mannheim, Germany, for two years, courtesy of the US Army. Every day in this beautiful foreign land is a gift. We'll go anywhere and see anything; random adventures make for the best stories. We're particularly fond of castles (in ruins or otherwise).

A Bit More about Me:

I am Carrie -- a twenty-one year old Army wife. Home is where my husband is, which, currently, is Mannheim, Germany. The two of us were raised in Kentucky and shared the dream to leave it. The Army was never how I pictured escape, but so far it has treated us well.

I am half way through a degree in English Literature, awaiting transfer to an online university. My marriage and subsequent international move interrupted previous career plans, though not unpleasantly. I hope one day to pick up where I left off on the road to a well-paid job, but for now I am perfectly content living out a love story in Europe. I have always been a romantic.

I read anything I get my hands on. I write every day. I want to see every inch of the world. I love with my whole heart. I bask in the sunshine and drink too much tea. I believe in the power of words, but more so in the power of a smile. These are the important things.

Upcoming Trips:

Trier, Strasbourg and Rothenburg odT are upcoming, as well as some smaller daytrips to the castles of Germany.

Latest Trip:

We just returned from Cologne! Photos/tips coming soon. We've also recently visited the two castles of Weinheim, Germany. It was a superb excursion, and I can't wait to share it.
