Cambridge- Spunky and Spontaneous Cambridge- city of universities. Home to two of the most prestigious universities in the world, Harvard and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge is an inetresting cornucopia of immigrants, working class families, artists, and students. Massachusetts Avenue is the spine and runs through the city's many squares: Kendall, where the research labs of MIT are, Central, the heart of the city, and Harvard, the centre of student life and shopping. Cambridge, it seems, is a whole different world from proper Boston across the Charles- it is so leftist it has been dubbed the "People's Republic of Cambridge". No matter what your political beliefs, however, you'll find Cantabrigians willing to accept just about...anyone. At least see Harvard and Harvard Square- it ranks among the top attractions in the Boston area.

Pawtuxet Mon Jun 23, 2003 01:40 UTC Interesting community. Drove through last wk. w/ son & his wife. She loved it....first time in Boston. | cobrioc Fri Jun 13, 2003 03:20 UTC cool page+pictures=1 | dinhyen Thu Sep 5, 2002 08:52 UTC IMHO, Harvard Sq is way overrated, and Central Sq is headed that way too. Kendall is high-tech but boring. Our last hopes are Porter and Davis :) | Poohgirl_007 Tue Jul 9, 2002 14:05 UTC Great page and pics! |
