Crete is a touristic target, a very important one; but, more than that, it is an island with a 5,000 year history, a soul of its own, a nature of its own. Look at picture of this small i/thymei/ shrub: it may survive in a very dry climate, with sea breezes bringing salt from the waters, only dry land with scarce rain to deep its roots; but it may live for centuries, it is a fodder for goats and a nectare source for bees and ... it is also so lovely to see it covering the dry rocky slopes of the island.
I'm beginning to build this . leave me a few days! |
