Quito is a peaceful place, somebody could even say life is relaxing, if not sleeping in that city. The altitude - 2,800 metres asl - makes its climate always cool and pleasant, sky is so brilliant you may be fascinated by high mountains surrounding you, and volcanoes.... The Cayambe is dominating the skyline and Pichincha is just over the city.

Very good tips on Quito especially about the altitude affecting the boiling point of water.
Sure wish I read your tip about the boiling water before I made spaghetti in Quito...now what excuse can I use in the USA??
