"The bottleneck ...." Singapore by lichinga

Just spent few hours in the wonderful Changi airport a couple of times, but the approach to Changi is a very beautiful and interesting one and this is what I can talk you about. It is hard to believe how complicated and "narrow" is the passage connecting the Indian ocean to the China Sea... and this is the bottleneck where such an important (and increasing) share of Worls sea transport is passing through!

Little islands between Singapore and Indonesia

It seems everybody is looking for a better place on Earth and try to achieve that by setting up an incredible amount of activities almost everywhere around such an important centre of attarction as Singapore is. I'm not even sure whether this picture refers to the actual geographical space of Singapore or it's part of Indonesia, but the concept doesn't change. Islands, even if remote and not so easily reachable or connected to the mainland are used as basis for shipbuilding and related activities.
