Sauna

The question asked in the interview by the finnish embrassy in Hanoi:
"Why do you want to visit Finland?"
" Sir, Firstly please let me know: Is it true that the population in your country is about 5.6million now?" I responded.
He answered: " Yes"
" ... I want to visit Finland because I want to know why they've built many saunas in your country. As I know there are more than 2mil saunas in your country at the moment. Why must they have a lot like this?" I said.
" I don't know " He laughed so loud.

My visa was accepted 3 days after (normally they said it took 3 weeks).

I know I must try how real sauna is in Finland.
Someone told me: "In the sauna wear your birthday suit. Nakedness is natural".
I did that. But how strange it is. I - A vietnamese girl but I didn't feel shy in a public sauna at the swimming pool. Many people from all ages, we come here only to relax. Even in some saunas has both men and women. Noone cares about other shapes.
At that time, I realised Sauna is not only a body cleaning but also the social life, healing illnesses and relaxation.
You can't miss it if you are here.! I'm in love with sauna.

Hi, Gem, I was looking for persons living in Vietnam and I got your Finland pages :) Wow, you have got the idea :) and you are right, but as we know what is normal to you is not normal to me and that's we I am traveling, to understand more about my weakness. I have three saunas, so I know, and some more to your list: saunas have been source of hygiene on those old days and they were common place for birth also in coutry side. The roots of saunas are deep inside us, lucky you to love it, it's always a good reason to visit Finland again :)

Loved your article about Finland. Being Finnish my dad used to build saunas in the San Francisco area. Make your Finland page into a tip so I can rate it? Cheers from California
