Cubadak island | The beautiful quiet beach |
Cubadak island is located in West Sumatra, 2 hrs from Padang, the capital city. Cubadak is of volcanic origin, has an area of 40 square km, is uninhabited except for a few isolated fishermen's houses, and is completely covered by rainforest. Cubadak is completely surrounded by the coral reef so that in the sea live innumerable varieties of coloured reef fishes. As the distance between the island and Sumatra is only a few miles, the sea in front of the Village is sheltered and completely free from waves so to facilitate the practice of water sports.
This island has one and only resort: Paradiso Village, owned by Italians. I didn't feel like I was in Indonesia cuz most of the guests are Italians and also the management team. Everyday we ate Italian food and heard Italian language! :-P But above all, this place is sooo pretty!! |
