"Dive4life" Siegburg by KShezz

We visited Dive4life in Siegberg in Germany not knowing what to expect...indoor diving how can that be fun?...but you know what.. it was!!
Firstly you need to log into the website (dont worry Google will translate it for you if neccessary ) and you need to make your own account its quite simple and the e-mail return with your codes is really fast ( I didnt even have time to make a cup of tea!) having your codes means you can log in as a registered user and from there you can find the buttons to book your diving...you can choose from many formulas but probably the best option is the all-in day pass for E39 ...astoundingly good value for money we think.
During your booking you can choose as many or as few add ons for training or courses or as much equipment as you need...if you have all your own equipment and are already qualified like we are you can simply skip these pages with the continue button...payment is fast and secure and the e-mail containing your voucher to print out is very fast indeed!...my one gripe is that these vouchers are full page and in colour...a bit wastefull if you ask me!
There is free parking fior the Dive4Life customers on site and remember to take the lift up to the dive center with your heavy bags as the stairs will try to kill you!
The check in desk will ask for your voucher and your certification along with a valid doctors note simply stating that you are fit to dive.
At the check in you will be asked if you need lead and how much and this will be noted remember to get them to check it back off when you leave...all the instructions for the tanks are given to you and they are also on the wall behind the tanks in at least 4 languages.
The changing rooms are seperate and lockers are available for your stuff but if it is a slow day you can keep it all under the benches by the pool if you like. my experience was that the changing rooms, toilets and showers were all spotlessly clean and well maintained.
There is a machine for free water (write your name on your cup and re-use it) and there are 3 vending machines with a selection of sweets, crisps, chocolates ansd warm and cold drinks , change is available at the desk.
As we had a whole day there our plan was for 2 dives in the morning and then lunch and then 2 more dives in the afternoon...to be honest this was probably one dive too many..after you have done your first dive with all the excitement and the exploration and your second dive with all the picture taking and your third dive doing a safety check and skills run through you are probably done...we spent our last dive doing energy and air conservation because that was all there was left to do...
Lunch is served to divers just outside the dive center on a mezzanine level and you ring a bell on the wall for service....the food was quite good and although the menu was not huge I'm sure that most people could find something that they wanted ..and the cappuchinos we had were great!
- Pros:indoor diving at a reasonble price
- Cons:once you have done it ..you've done it...
- In a nutshell:certainly a good experience to have had
When in Germany you must go and get Spaghetti ice cream...which is ice cream over a blob of real cream which makes the... more travel advice
