The beach of Nice - "Baie des Anges"

The "Baie des Anges" lies in front of the famous "Promenade des Anglais", a very big avenue with a promenade where all the big and expensive hotels and restaurants are situated.

The picture was taken from a small hill (Mt. Boron) which lies between the beach and the port on the other side.

Baie des Anges

Since it was beginning of May, the beach was almost empty - no comparison to what it might look like in high season - then it is crowded with people!

The different beaches (les plages) were still mostly closed which means there were no sunbeds or sunscreen. In season you have to pay a lot to visit those beaches which normally belong to the near-by hotels.

Pros and Cons

Pros:very fashionable, interesting to watch people, good food and wine, French flair
Cons:very expensive, sometimes crowded
In a nutshell:Not just Salade Nicoise!
