I really enjoyed my time in Mexico City and even being there a week I was unable to see everything. We try to do it all from ,viewing Lucha Libra wrestling, seeing ancient pyrmaids, walking down the Reforma, seeing the Ballet Folkorico, enjoying some cheap eats, riding the canals at Xochimilco, to taking the Turismo bus to have an overview of the city. Even with the language barrier this is one of my 5 favorite cities that I have visited.
Since I may never get to Egypt I was thrilled that right outside of Mexico City is the ancient city of Teotihuacan with many pyramids on the grounds. It was incredible going here and I was surprised with how many pyramids are on the site. The one word of advice I have for people especially if you want to try to climb the pyramids is get here as early as possible because even in the winter months it will get hot here. Here is a blog I did with more info on the pyramids and tips on how to get here.

Just south of downtown Mexico are the canal system at Xochimilco. On the weekend this is one big party on the canals. Think Venice but add music, dancing, liquor and food to the mix. To save money just take the metro and then connect to the light rail to get down here. This will cost you 6 pesos or around 50 cents US. The only other advice I have is to try to make friends on your way to your canal that you will pick out because the more people the merrier.
- Pros:huge, fun, cheap, historic
- Cons:Too many businesses closed on January 1st
