J.Rumi(1207-1273) SUFIST... was born in Balkh,Afghanistan and died in Konya,Turkey,where 'DERVISH DANCING' in public is now proscribed except as a tourist spectable.Rumi's major work,generally considered to be one of the world's greatest books, is his Mathnavi-i-Maanavi(Couplets of Inner Meaning). His table-talk (Fihi Ma Fihi),letters (Maktubat),Diwan, and the hagiography Munaqib El-Arifin,all contain important parts of his teachings.Rumi, like other Sufi authors, plants his teachings within a framework which as effectively screens its inner meaning as displays it.
One of the most revealing of his sentences is the title of his table-talk: 'In it what is in it' (You get out of it what is in it for u').
JALULUDIN RUMI'S works are not only for Muslims but also for all people in the world.

You ask if I have joined a ceremony. I have been priveleged to witness a sema in Konya but as far as joining have not undertaken the intensive path of spiritual study that a sema entails. A beautiful occurence and wonderful philosophy.
