"Home Sweet Home" Tralee by Sprucebeer
Tralee Travel Guide: 60 reviews and 62 photos
Our night in Tralee was very special. We had visited the Muckross House and toured the ring of Kerry. Like I mentioned on my Kerry page, that day the Co. Kerry did not win the All Ireland Football Championship. However that night, there was gaiety in the air, good craic in the pubs and perhaps a pint or two in our blood.
Our hotel was across the street from a lovely park with some graves. The gardener there, at least I think he was, was hitting on me and wanting me to meet him in a bar later on…. which I declined. Those Irishmen are quite the sweet talkers :-).
Later on we did go to a pub, we ended up at the Sean Og’s just down the street from the hotel. There we were surprised to find a party going on given the result of the football match earlier that day. Fiddles were playing, people dancing, not one sober person that night… just what we expected from a pub in Ireland.
Back at the hotel, while my roommate slept, a feeling of belonging engrossed me. I don’t know if it was the Guinness or the place, but at that moment I did not want to go back home.
“And when the pale moon rises o'er the green mountain, And the sun is declining beneath the blue sea, We dream of those lovers by the pure crystal fountain - For they live in our hearts in this vale of Tralee” – The Rose of Tralee.
- In a nutshell:You will never want to leave!

This is my favorite pub in Tralee. I spent many a happy evening there with friends and pints. The atmosphere is great. A snug turf fire and some local musicians make for a near-perfect pub experience.
Nice start on your Tralee page, hope to see more tips later on.
