Nothing will prepare your senses or your soul for a trip to India. It has a magic about it that has you wishing to get out of the place, but once that happens you can't wait to get back there again. I first visited in November 1998 then again in September 2001, and hopefully again sometime soon. There is such a huge difference in the provinces that you visit it would take a lifetime to experience it all. I have created these pages straight from the journal I kept in india, so I hope you enjoy the visit. "But wait there's more" - merchants most used english phrase.

A small tip: For our accommodation outside of Delhi and Mumbai we tried to ensure that we stayed with families, that provide a sort of guest house atmosphere. It not only brings an income to the family which is always needed, you get to meet the real families, sit round have a chat and find out how it really is. You will find these people extremely helpful with information that they pass along to you, always willing to assist in any way and provide clean comfortable and cheap lodgings.*

Pros and Cons

Pros:It is still a cheap country to visit, extremely colourful and easy to get around.
Cons:There are quiet a few scams going on to assist in emptying the pockets of travelers.
In a nutshell:Head out to the smaller towns, everything is so much more day to day life.
