You can visit Kemeri National Park's Information Centre that is open from 1st May- 30th September (they work from 10:00 am- 6:00 pm) and get some maps, brochures and tips about the objects of the park. You can get some info about the theme days, like Days of Meadows, Days of Bats, and Bird Days when you can together with some experts explore the nature.
Dumbraji path (Dumbrāju taka) is a wooden path about 500 m long and it goes through swamp forest and this is one of the places where you are able to watch forest birds. It was so great to hear Woodpeckers in here! Further, during the path you can find a geocaching place. This path starts right by the Kemeri National Park's Administration house and Tourism Information Centre (it is one building, but the beginning of the path is on the left).
Sloka's lake nature path and bird watching tower. There is about 3 km long walking path where you can get some information about some rare and typical plant species that are growing in the parks territory. The path in some places is from ground and in some places there have been made a wooden path, so take good footware in case if it were rainy a day before. At the day I visited, next to the bird watching tower I met a couple of swans.
Kanieris lake (Kaņieris ezers) and it's bird watching tower. This lake is a seaside lake and it is relatively shallow and it is becoming owergrown, and that makes this lake a perfect place for birdlife. I saw here common coot, arctic tern, common goldeneye, balck-headed gull and many more. This summer it wasn't possible to buy oneself books about the birds and the nature at the Information Centre in Kemeri. If you don't know yet much about birds, get some books with pictures, because during being at the national park and by exploring it, I really got fascinated by the birdlife!
The Great Swamp path (Lielā tīreļa laipa). This was one of the greatest moments at ĶNP, I visited this path early in the morning and I saw couple of cranes in the swamp and the look from the watching tower to the great swamp were amazing! It's so peaceful here and so beautifl, and simple at the same time. Definitely worth to see!
Dunduri meadows (Dunduru pļavas) is a place where you can watch wild horses and cows, and birdlife. You can find here a watching tower as well, but there are no signs posted by the road to direct the way to the meadows and tower, so it's better if you take a map at the Information Centre.
Sulphur springs (Sēravoti). Kemeri used to be a famous resort town with wide variety of recreation and treatment possibilities. At the centre of Kemeri there is a place where you can drink sulphur spring water that are told to be good for your health.
Fisherman villages by the seaside- Bigauņciems, Lapmežciems, Ragaciems. These are lovely places to go and by the way, you can buy some local fisherman smoked fish here. And the further you go the less people you find.
- Pros:peaceful, great nature, away from people
- Cons:not enought information signs
- In a nutshell:the great hide and seek
