THE ISLAND

Poros is a small greek island in the southern part of the Saronic Gulf. The distance from the port of Pireaus is about 31 nautical miles.From Galatas on the Peloponnese the distance is shorter.
The island is full of pine trees, olive trees and lemon trees. Most of the houses of Poros are of neoclassical style.

THE ISLAND

The best beaches on the island are:
- Love Bay , a romantic beach with pine trees. You can find sunbeds unders the shadow of the pine trees there.
- Kanali, is of a sandy beabeach situated afterth littled bridge which connects Progymnastirio to the settlement next to the beach of Poros.There are fish restaurants there.
- Askeli is located on the north east side of the port.
- Monastiri on the east of the island is a quiet beach with clear waters. You can find tavernas there.
- Vagionia, is located on the north side of the island. Under the sea there is an ancient greek town. Appropriate for fishing.
- Neorio on the north side of the island with pine trees which reach the sea.

POROS TOWN

Poros town is built amphitheatrically on the hills. Most of the houses are of neoclassical architecture.


Our visit to Poros ended in the evening.We didn't have, therefore, the time to see the nightlife of the island.
