<font size=-1><b><i><u>Salamanca</u> is the capital of the homonymous region. It has been the protagonist of <u>Spain's</u> most important historical events.<u>Salamanca</u> was conquered by the <u>Arabs</u> and before being reconquered by the king <u>Alfonso</u> VI, it was taken back several times by the <u>Christians</u>.The city owes its reputation and prosperity to <u>Alfonso VI</u>.
During the <u>15th century </u> there was a lot of agitation in <u>Spain</u>. <u>Salamanca</u> couldn't be affected.There was a fighting betweeen the <u>Infantes of Aragon</u> and <u>D. Alvaro de Luna</u>. In <u>1465</u> a serious event divided the city in two parts. Two members of the <u>Enrique</u> family were killed by two brothers of the <u>Manzano</u> family.When <u>Maria Rodriguez de Monroy</u>, the mother of the two killed brothers saw the dead bodies of her sons, she ran after the murders, she found them at an inn in <u>Viseu </u> in Portugal, killed them and came back with their heads wich threw on the tomb where the bodies of her sons were.
