We were pressed to call Mohammedia while we were crossing from Gibraltar to Las Palmas de Gran Canary. The port is mainly for fishing boats and on the outer breakwater there is space for cargo vessels. The view where we entered the port was very interesting, fishing boats were arriving an ddocking to a special dock next to a wharf where labour, crowds of people, were waiting for work to discharge the hundreds of catch and load to the wharf.
Our call to mOhammedia was out of our plans because we had a sick crew that needed to repatriate. The Morroccan authorities were very polite efficient and helped us with our problem. The police helped us to get him the same night to a plane and were very helpful, will never forget.
The town is small and not particularly nice, no good restaurants. People speak French and some speak English too.
It was a nice hazy day when we started sailing south, on our ortside we could see the lighthouse of Casablanca a very nice view that made us regret we didn't visit this city. It was unfortunate that we had to enter Morrocco for medical reasons and fortunate that we finished so fast. BUt next time we decided to stop in Morrocco and spend at least 2 weeks visiting this beautiful and interesting country. Inshallah!!!
