I was not able to really narrow down my trip to a certain city, but Edinburgh is a good start. Scotland is not the type of place you go to Aberdeen or Glasgow and stay. At least i didnt. Like Ireland, Scotland is about its rugged rural beauty and though I spent some time in cities, most of the places I visited are not options on VT. So I will CALL this page EDINBURGH, but it will include many other places, some of which I am hard pressed to even name if I could anyway.
Scotland has a reputation for for being a rugged, brisk weathered, mystical place. I for one liked the movie BRAVEHEART for its scenery almost as much as its story, for it embodied a great deal of the history, violence and sadness that has forged Scotland into what it is today. For that matter..see Rob Roy, its scenery is just as good but it suffered from being released about 30 days before Braveheart debuted. I have a hard time separating the images I have recorded in memory, the history I have learned by default and the reality I see when i visit Scotland. Its all deliciously mystical to me.
We have a new smallsize/large size option now on VT//ALL MY PICS ARE BEST SEEN LARGE SIZED. (click on it now) |
