Baile Atha Claith, in gaelic "the city of hurdles" as one historian put it..largely because the Dublin of old was a hodgepodge of muddy streets and hard to get around. Thats hardly romantic but luckily the city has rebounded form its rather modest beginings to provide present day travelers a plethora of theings to do and see.
THE CELTIC TIGER:These days Ireland has been transformed into a financial upswing that is only 2nd to Germany in sheer growth. It is mostly due to the computer/tech industry and a waelth of well educated Irish people that make for a great business environment. |
