"BALTIC SEA - INSEL POEL - HANSESTADT WISMAR - BOLT" Schwerin by Bigs

Well, I don´t have been to Schwerin... This page is about the coast of the Baltic Sea (Ostsee) some 30 km north of Schwerin.

It´s a popular spot for a summer holiday here in Germany. It´s also perfect for a weekend or daytrip from Hamburg/Hanover/Berlin....

I have stayed at the island "Poel" for a weekend in August 2001 and it was really relaxing. It was a mixture of sightseeing (Hansestadt Wismar) and a refreshing bath in the calm Baltic Sea.

It´s also a place where you find signs of the former GDR in some buildings. These backviews are getting rare in these times now...and for me, as I have seen the GDR a few times it´s always an interesting journey into the past.
