...is said to be tired of life!" | London eye and Houses of Parliament |
Well, I can imagine that living in London isn´t always on the easy side. It must be quite stressful... Crowded tube rides to get to work, long distances from A to B, the traffic on the streets, the bad air etc. It's indeed is a lively athmosphere and it´s sometimes hard to find quieter areas. So tell me you Londoners, what do you think of living there?
As a tourist I must say, it´s one of the best places to go to in Europe. You won´t find the charme of Paris here, the history of Berlin and the old architecture of Rome, but you will find a mixture of all of this. A vibrant mixture of everything. There are tons of things to explore. Great museums, great parks, great shopping facilities and last but not least the pubs. I also like the nearer suburbs. Most times when I was in London I stayed at friends places, which makes it another London, if you know what I mean....so check out the suburbs lads! |
| | Mind the gap! When I think of my trips to London one thing that gets in my mind first is the Underground. You will always spend some time in this rusty old lady. I really like these old stations, the smell, the narrow tunnels, the labyrint of ways and the mixture of international people using the tube. sometimes I wonder, how this old system is still running....it´s not really up to date with modern public transport systems it seems. But it´s this old charme I really like.....so take a ride to Baker Street, Embankment or Camden Town. |
| | TATE Modern I usually keep the tips to the tips area, but this time I will make an example. It´s because I fell in love with a museum. Tate Modern is the place you definately shouldn´t miss when you are coming to London. I could sit in the big hall for ages, just staring at the space and the architecture. Not to forget about the wonderful collection of modern art. I have spent some hours in here. Not without having a coffee at the cafe on the 2nd floor (with a nice view over to St. Pauls Cathedral) and not without spending some time in the huge shop in the basement. I really loved it. |
