  • The 'government villa' in Hroznova Street
    1900 - 7700 CZK

Unique Qualities: The villa at Hroznova Street 14, known as the ‘government villa’, was designed by the architect Arnost Wiesner, a leading representative of functionalism in Brno. Built in 1927, it is still one of the most important architectural sights in Brno. It was the most technologically sophisticated building in Czechoslovakia in its day. The large garden (3 ha) was also designed by a highly respected architect Otto Eisler. The villa is now registered in the central register of cultural sights.

What an interesting page about the town, where my father was born !"When Swedes tried to conquer Brno" looks to me a bit like hooligans after a football-match ;-) Maybe I can watch that next year, when they try again...

An interesting introduction to your home city and its history & folklore. I've only been there once, but that was 37 years ago and I don't really remember very much, except that it was rainy and cold in November. It looks much nicer in your photos!

Very good info about Brno, thanks. We passed Brno this year but didn't got a change to visit, maybe next year.
