| | My name is Daniela, I was born in Brno and with some breaks I do still live here. I spent my early childhood in and in front of a prefab house in quite nice and especially safe surroundings of Kralovo Pole (a Brno quarter). As my brother Martin was born some two years after me, I have been at home with him and our mom till I was 5 years old. Then my mother went back to work and me and my brother were put in a kindergarden. The one I was going to was right behind our prefab, but Martin was going to one at the other side of the town (because the "mine" kindergarden was already full), so I was always the last child waiting for my mom comming back from work with my brother beeing picked up first. I must say I did not liked the kindergarden, partly beacause of the late picking me up… |
When I was 6 I started going to a primary school, which was right next to the kindergarden, so very near again. I did not have to cross any raod, so I was going to school independently from scratch (no mom waving good-bye, I was a big girl already). My memories of primary school are a bit mixed, good and bad, but that is probably by most of you. I loved the first four grades of the school especially beacause of having a wonderful teacher Mrs.Wetterova. She is a pensioner now, but her daughter is teaching at the same primary school now. I spent almost every holiday by my grand-parents in Stara Ves, a small village in Jeseniky mountains at the North of Moravia. Before the last grade I spent my holidays at two summer camps, firstly at Palava mountains and then in Romania. | | | Taken from http://www.rymarovsko.cz/staraves/index |

| | When the time has come to decide which school should I study further I have to say I was not sure. I was thinking about studying farmacy, or literature or doing something with arts. I decided (with a great help of my mother) to study literature, so I went to Luhacovice to a bookseller school. And I spent there four wonderful years and I am happy to have studied there. I love books and do spend a lot of the time with reading…history, crime-stories, sci-fi, well almost everything, travel books too of course. Before I went to study at the high school we went on a holiday with my parents and my brother to Bulgaria. It was my second and my brother's first trip abroad, to the sea and it was fascinating. But for a long time also the last trip abroad. |
When I was in the second grade there was the Velvet revolution here in the Czech republic. I was too standing at the square tinkling with the keys and hoping that everything will change now, and it did. And my frontiers opened (not only mine). I have visited quite a lot of places since then. Although, having more money and time I would have definitely visited more. I have spent half a year in Offenthal, Germany as au-pair, six weeks in Scottland on study exchange and as a tourist I fell in love with the Banat region in Romania, with Ireland, with Guadeloupe and lots of other places. Regarding my career, I have worked in some bookstores, then as a travel agent for some travel agencies (two) and now independent translation activities are my bread. | | | a postcard from Stonehenge |

| | With a group of my friends I do visit frequently the castle Helfstyn near Tyn nad Becvou, we are co-operating with the castellan and helping him to organise the events on the castle: the opening, the fair, the castle ball and especially the Hefaiston – annual meeting of blacksmiths. My non-tourist activities involve an amateur puppet theatre Bedrunka. We do play each month some fairy tale for the children at the Salesian youth centre and at some other places like the S.O.S. village for foster children or at castles and some festivals. Well, I think you know now quite a lot about me now, please feel free to visit my travel pages, but be aware that they are under permanent construction. |
Some of my trips Boskovice, CZ - a town with one of the biggest Jewish cemetries in the Czech Republic and nice arboretum
