Been here for the Sand Sculpture Festival in summer 2002 and loved it. I saw pictures of this festival on VT before and completely forgot about it until I found a flyer in Brugge's tourist information. So of course we changed all our plans and went here on a sunny and hot saturday morning!
The sand sculptures were unbelieveable, I still think there's concrete hidden somewhere inside of them.
The theme of the festival was "Atlantis" so you could see all kinds of fantasy creatures and buildings. Wonderful!
The beach here was wonderful, too. Very refreshing on a hot Saturday morning!!! We stayed here for hours - just enjoying the sound and the smell of the sea!
- Pros:Wonderful beach, great sandsculpture festival
- Cons:On a hot and sunny day parking can be a nightmare!
- In a nutshell:The sea :) Argh, love it!
