One warning: I like English seaside Kitsch. That's why I always wanted to stop in Blackpool for a short look when I was in the area. Luckily Bigs agreed on a small detour on our way from the Lakes to West Kirby on New Year's Day 2005. I could finally have a look what Blackpool is all about. |
| | As it was New Year's Day and winter almost everything in Blackpool was closed. No rollercoaster rides, no ferris wheel turning over the Irish sea. But this added to the atmosphere I think. Blackpool seems to be a forgotten town in winter - I bet the madness comes back in spring. And even though I would love to see this, too, I even think I do like this place better in winter ;)
There weren't many people around and the mixture of sunshine, heavy wind and rain and a lovely empty beach was perfect for a New Year's Day walk along the sea! |
