Back in university days I had a seminar called "Castles, Cathedrals and Culture in Medieval Britain". It was a killer, our lecturer bored us to death with slide shows of Durham Cathedral and its perpendicular style. |
| | So when I was around the area I of course wanted to go to Durham to see the cathedral and its perpendicular style myself. Durham is a nice little town with old university buildings, an old castle and the cathedral is impressive indeed (especially the inside!). |
I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw where the students live in the castle!!! The old castle was turned into student housing. They even have a university police here.
Unfortunately it was raining when we were in Durham - but the sun came out only a short while later! | | |
